The latest State of Asia American report “Journey-ing: An Anthology of Coming to America,” released by the Asian Real Estate Association of America, highlights the most pressing issues within the Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community. It includes data on migration patterns, consumer preferences, discrimination, and barriers for AANHPI homebuyers.

Some of the insights from the report:

  • From 2022 to 2023, Texas ranked second among southern states in net migration of AANHPI people (7.3K).
  • About 1 in 10 Asian adults report experiencing some form of discrimination in their neighborhood.
  • Despite having the highest income on average and credit score, Asian applicants experienced higher loan denial rates than White counterparts.
  • Nearly half (47%) of the Asian immigrants who arrived recently consider themselves not proficient in English.
